CPRS Ottawa/Gatineau Forum: Take the Leap…From Good to Great!
On behalf of the CPRS Ottawa/Gatineau Chapter I’d like to thank everyone who attended our successful conference on February 29th titled Take the Leap…from Good to Great.

After a full day of motivating speakers, networking and sharing, I think most of us felt like we were ready to ‘take the leap’ to become an even better and more strategic public relations practitioner.

Here are just a few things we can all think about as we endeavour to be excellent PR practitioners:
- In a changing environment, where social media is omnipresent, face to face dialogue is as important as ever.
- Traditional media, particularly in the world of consumer products, remains a valuable part of the media mix.
- If you’re mindful of, and nuture, your relationships and your reputation, positive results will come.
- Genuine respect of others can go a long way towards building positive internal communications.
- To get to the management table, you have to ‘be the table’ and keep your mother close! (You may need to read Jim Lukaszewski’s latest book to fully appreciate this one!)
- Crisis can be an opportunity.

And once again, I’d like to thank our conference sponsors: Worldcom, Marketwire, Cision, Duocom and the Sprott School of Business and thank you for sharing February 29th, a leap year day, with us.
