About the Presentation:
With shifting demographics both inside and outside the federal public service and the increasing demand for personalized messaging delivered across multiple channels, the federal government is moving towards increased adoption of social media – so-called Government 2.0 – as a way of communicating with Canadians. But how quickly can the government move from pilot projects to full integration, what will drive the adoption of these technologies, what has to happen first, and is there a role for the private sector?

About Jared Adams:
Jared Adams, a graduate of Carleton University’s School of Journalism, is an award-winning writer and started blogging before that was actually a word. He has been the editor of a trade newspaper, assistant editor of two national magazines, an email newsletter specialist, and a communications specialist for the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association. He is currently a senior public affairs advisor in the Canada Revenue Agency’s Office of the Assistant Commissioner of Public Affairs and a part-time instructor in Algonquin College’s public relations program.
