As my first blog as President, I want to start by saying that I’m truly excited to work with such a strong board of dedicated professionals. I look forward to the year ahead and hope that you will find great value in what we have in store for you. 

Last Thursday, our newly-elected board held a retreat to plan out the upcoming year for our members.  Many topics were discussed from how we can continue promoting our APR program to what types of professional development sessions you’d most want to see.  If you’re interested in volunteering some of your time to our society, we have some interesting initiatives that you could work on.  Feel free to email any one of us at any time (our email addresses are listed in the Board of Directors section).   

In September, we’ll kick off the season with a social event in downtown Ottawa.  We look forward to seeing you there. 

I’d like to congratulate Stephen Heckbert, our Past President, on the tremendous work that he’s done for our Society during the past three years as its President.  I’m grateful that he’s staying on our board and am already thankful for the valuable insight he provides to us.

En tant que premier blogue à titre de présidente, j’aimerais commencer par souligner l’impressionnant conseil d’administration avec qui j’aurai l’honneur de travailler.  J’ai hâte à l’année qui s’en vient et j’espère que vous apprécierez ce qu’on prépare pour vous. 

Jeudi dernier, notre tout nouveau conseil d’administration a tenu une journée de réflexion pour planifier l’année à venir pour nos membres.  On a discuté de plusieurs sujets tels que comment nous pouvons continuer à promouvoir notre programme d’agrément et quels types de sessions de développement professionnel seraient le plus appréciées par nos membres.  Si vous souhaitez donner de votre temps à notre société, nous avons des initiatives intéressantes sur lesquelles vous pourriez travailler.  N’hésitez pas de nous contacter par courriel (nos adresses sont dans la section C.A.).  

En septembre, nous prévoyons une activité sociale au centre-ville d’Ottawa.  Nous avons hâte de vous voir là.

J’aimerais féliciter Stephen Heckbert, notre ancien président, pour le travail remarquable qu’il a accompli pour notre société au cours des trois dernières années en tant que président.  Et je lui suis reconnaissante de continuer de siéger au sein de notre conseil d’administration et bénéficie déjà de ses précieux conseils.
