As a student, membership in your local CPRS chapter is an important step in developing your career in public relations and communications. It indicates to prospective employers that you take your role in PR seriously and that you are committed to sharing of best practices and life-long learning in your chosen field.

We CPRS members all remember what it’s like to be a student and we want to help you on your path. You are a student today, and our colleague tomorrow. Coming out to CPRS events is a chance for students to meet PR professionals, get advice, exchange ideas, expand your networks and job prospects.

Here are more benefits that your $20 annual membership provides.

  • Significant discounts to attend CPRS professional development events and free social events at the start and end of the school year.
  • Your membership rate will continue to be $20 the first year after you graduate. A savings of $368.50 off a full membership! Available only if you were a student member.
  • The opportunity to seek one-on-one career advice from seasoned PR and communications professionals, through the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau Board of Directors.
  • Receive an email when there’s a new job posted on the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau website.
  • Six editions annually of VOX, the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau e-newsletter.

To join, please complete the Student Membership Application Form. All full time students from Ottawa-Gatineau colleges and universities that are interested in working in PR are welcome to join.
